Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Tyler, Texas is seeking a registered nurse to provide routine and complex care in the ED or related unit, using the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.

You will administer medications per protocol, monitor for side effects, educate patients and families, and participate in onboarding and competency validation as part of the department's nursing orientation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred.
• One year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• Current ACLS, PALS, TNCC certifications required.
• BLS: Basic Life Support required.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol; monitors for side-effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication and care provided.
• Educates patients and families; identifies learning needs and resources.
