Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Tyler, TX is seeking a competent registered nurse to deliver nursing care in a fast-paced setting. You will perform assessments, plan, implement and evaluate care, and administer medications per protocol while documenting findings and educating patients and families.

Preferred BSN, at least 1 year of related nursing experience, BLS certification, and active RN license in Texas or compact. New nurses participate in orientation and ongoing competency validation.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required.
• RN license in state of employment or compact.
• BSN degree preferred; 1 year of related nursing experience may be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administers medications and treatments using the appropriate protocol; monitors side-effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members and/or caregivers; identifies issues and resources.
