Job summary

The Emergency Department nurse at CoxHealth South in Springfield, MO provides professional nursing care during the initial phase of acute illness or trauma for patients of all ages. The ED nurse triages and prioritizes care, stabilizes patients, initiates treatment, and coordinates discharge or admission as needed.

With hours from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM, this day shift role supports a leading healthcare system across multiple counties.

Qualifications

• Required: Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.

Responsibilities

• The ED nurse provides professional nursing care during the initial phase of illness or trauma for patients of all ages.
• The ED nurse triages and determines priority of care based on physical, psychological and social needs and factors influencing patient flow.
• The ED nurse stabilizes and initiates treatment, discharge planning when appropriate, or arranges for a longer hospital stay.
