Job summary

St. David’s Georgetown Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with the care team. The RN will follow established nursing models to support outcomes and patient safety.

The role requires current RN licensure and relevant certifications, with a path for continuing education and professional growth within a nationwide transfer framework. A comprehensive benefits program is provided.

Qualifications

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
• NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
• Registered Nurse
• Registered Nurse Diploma must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management and reassessments after intervention.
• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider and documents care in the patient record.
• Responds promptly to patient requests and anticipates needs to resolve issues.
• Teaches patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up, translating complex terms as needed.
• Educates on non-medical follow-up measures, such as diet, exercise, and lifestyle changes, and prepares for self-management.
