Job summary

Halifax Health is seeking a Day shift Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department in Florida. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, coordinating with LPNs, CNAs and the unit team while considering age and development of patients.

Responsibilities include ongoing patient assessment, care planning, family involvement, teaching for discharge, medication administration, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure excellent patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• RN – State of Florida license required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Completion of general and nursing orientation.
• Completion of unit orientation and unit-specific competency checklist.
• Certifications as required by the specific unit.
• Excellent communication skills with patients, families and clinicians.
• Assessment of patient on admission and ongoing.
• Plans and coordinates care based on assessment and needs.
• Involves family in plan of care as appropriate.
• Administers medications per policy.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care.
• Direct, delegate and coordinate care among LPNs, CNAs and unit staff.
• Assess patient condition on admission and continuously.
• Teach patient and family as needed for outcomes and discharge.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to achieve outcomes.
• Initiate and verify physician orders and document nursing actions.
• Maintain patient safety and confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines.
• Contribute to quality improvement and staff development.
