Job summary

Optum is seeking a patient-oriented registration specialist for an on-site Emergency Department role in Boulder, CO. You will greet patients, verify demographics and insurance, collect payments, and support front-office operations in a fast-paced clinical environment.

The position is full-time with night shifts (Thu-Fri 11:00pm–7:00am; Sat-Sun 7:00pm–7:00am) and includes a $1,500 sign-on bonus for external applicants, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of customer service experience in hospital, office, or phone support.
• Onsite work at 4747 Arapahoe Ave, Boulder CO 80303 in an Emergency Department setting.
• Available for Monday 6:30am–7:00pm, Tuesday 3:00pm–11:30pm, Saturday 7:00am–3:30pm.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check-in patients, collect demographics and health information.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits.
• Enter and verify patient data in computer systems in real-time.
• Collect co-pays and discuss financial obligations with patients.
• Obtain information and respond to inquiries about patient services before discharge.
• Generate and review patient data reports; address inconsistencies.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of registration requirements in ED and other units.
