Job summary

UNC Health Blue Ridge's Emergency Department in Morganton, NC seeks a dedicated Paramedic for PRN shifts. You will provide lifesaving care in a fast-paced setting, leveraging your training and compassion to support patients and families in the community.

The role requires OEMS-approved Paramedic training, NC Paramedic Certification (National Registry preferred), and current BLS; ACLS/PALS within 6 months. Community paramedicine coursework is a plus.

Qualifications

• Completion of OEMS-approved Paramedic Training Program.
• Current North Carolina Paramedic Certification; National Registry preferred.
• BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire.
• CPI course required within 30 days of hire.
• Affinity with an EMS agency required to maintain National Registry Paramedic certification.
• Community paramedicine curriculum within two years of hire preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide lifesaving emergency medical care in the ED.
• Collaborate with ED staff and EMS teams to coordinate patient care.
• Deliver compassionate, patient- and family-centered care during shifts.
• Maintain flexibility to work PRN and various shifts as scheduled.
