Job summary

The University of Kentucky is seeking a Nursing Care Technician / UKHC for the Emergency Department in Lexington, KY. You will work one-on-one with an RN to deliver patient-centered care, take vital signs, assist with ADLs, and help with admissions and transfers.

Starting pay is $18.20–$24.82 per hour, with shifts of three 12.5-hour days. Licensure options include SRNA, EMT, RN student status, LPN, or NCT competencies, plus BLS at hire or during training.

Qualifications

• Kentucky SRNA or EMT eligibility for ED licensure.
• RN nursing student who has completed basic coursework and clinical.
• Military Medic experience considered.
• Current/active LPN license.
• NCT competencies demonstrated through prior UK employment.
• Completion of Earn While You Learn NCT Training Program with BLS at hire or during training.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under RN supervision, including vital signs and documentation.
• Assist with ADLs, receive and stock supplies, respond to call lights.
• Move patients between beds, wheelchairs, or stretchers when needed.
• Prepare patients for procedures and assist with specimens transport to labs.
