Job summary

Baptist Health in Lexington, KY seeks a Nursing Assistant II (Emergency Department Technician) to join the ED on a part-time basis. Under the supervision of the ED RN, you will assist with patient care, specimen collection, and department workflow in a fast-paced environment.

Candidates must have a Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification or be in an approved nursing program, plus BLS. Strong communication, computer skills, and a commitment to patient safety are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification required or completion of first year nursing clinical with validation of education level.
• BLS certification required; if not held, obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Previous laboratory or customer service experience preferred.
• Data entry and computer experience and/or phlebotomy, point-of-care testing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Functions within the multidisciplinary team under the supervision of the ED Registered Nurse.
• Shows excellent communication and coordination of patient care and department flow.
• Maintains accurate data entry and uses hospital computer systems.
• Keeps work area clean and organized to support efficient operation and workflow.
• Collects, processes, transports and analyzes specimens per lab policies and procedures.
• Demonstrates proficiency in patient care according to hospital policies.
