Job summary

Endeavor Health is launching a Transition to Practice program in the Emergency Department at Elmhurst Hospital to support nurses new to ED practice. The role is night shift, full-time, located in Elmhurst, IL, with program-driven classroom education during day shifts.

Candidates should hold IL nursing licensure, an ADN or higher, and be prepared to obtain BSN within five years. BLS is required and ACLS/PALS/NIHSS may be completed within three months of start.

Qualifications

• Current professional Nursing Licensure in IL required.
• Associate degree in Nursing or higher; if ADN, must obtain BSN within five years of start date.
• CPR/BLS certification required; ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications may be completed during Transition Program and required within three months of starting.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care per IL Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.
• Use critical thinking and clinical judgment to assess patients and prioritize care.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care.
• Monitor patient progress and document assessments and interventions.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care.
