Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking an experienced Staff Nurse Inpatient for the Emergency Department to provide patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment. You will work with a supportive team, delivering high-quality nursing care and coordinating with physicians and staff.

This role requires a BSN, active Illinois RN license, and BLS. The position emphasizes collaboration, evidence-based practice, and participation in governance and unit projects within the Northwestern Medicine system.

Qualifications

• BSN required or ADN with commitment to obtain BSN within three years
• Current Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to collaborate with others
• Strong analytic abilities

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze data, develop individualized plan, coordinate care delivery and evaluate outcomes
• Direct care and manage of nursing assignments and staff involvement
• Collaborate with patient, family, physicians and support staff with documentation of plan
• Participate in shared governance, committees and unit projects
• Evaluate patient responses and adapt the care plan using ANA standards
• Utilize evidence-based practice to guide clinical decisions
