Job summary

Northwestern Medicine in Illinois is seeking a Staff Nurse Inpatient for the Emergency Department. You will work a day shift (6:00 AM–6:30 PM) in a fast-paced, patient-centered setting with a weekends-only program, collaborating with a supportive team to deliver exceptional care.

The role requires a BSN, IL RN license, BLS, ACLS/PALS, and strong communication and analytical skills, with additional certifications for ED and pediatric care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse.
• Basic Life Support.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collaborate with others.
• Strong analytic abilities.
• ACLS within one year of hire.
• PALS/ENPC & TNCC within one year of hire.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support within one year of hire.
• TNCC within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Deliver clinically competent nursing care to acutely ill patients.
• Collaborate with patients, families and health team members.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care.
• Direct care and utilization of nursing staff and assistants.
• Document plans and outcomes, ensuring quality improvement.
• Participate in shared governance and unit projects.
• Use best available evidence to guide practice decisions.
