Job summary

Nemours is seeking an EMT for our Transport Team in Wilmington, DE. The position supports safe transportation of patients between referring hospitals and Nemours facilities, under the direction of RN/RT teams.

The role requires NREMT and Delaware EMT certification, BLS, EVOC, and eligibility to obtain MD/NJ/PA EMTs within 90 days. At least 2–3 years of EMT experience and two years driving full-size EMS equipment are expected.

Qualifications

• Must have and maintain a driving record acceptable to Nemours’ insurance carrier.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• NREMT and Delaware EMT required.
• BLS from the American Heart Association required.
• EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operators Certificate) or approved equivalent required.
• MD, NJ, and PA EMT certifications within 90 days of hire.
• At least 2-3 years of previous experience as an EMT.
• At least 2 years experience driving full size EMS equipment required.

Responsibilities

• Safe and efficient transportation of patients between referring hospitals or to other facilities and destinations.
• Operation of the vehicle in a safe and efficient manner; assist transport RN/RT teams.
• Provide direct care under EMT Certification under Medical Command direction.
• Assist with patient care in PICU, NICU, and ED as resources to other units.
