Job summary

Nemours Children's Health in Wilmington, DE, is seeking an EMT for the Transport Team. The role covers a DAY Shift (0645-1915), full-time with 72 hours biweekly, including every third weekend and holiday.

You will transport patients safely and assist RN/RT teams under supervision, delivering care across pediatric units and specialty services. The ideal candidate has EMT certification (NREMT/DE), BLS, EVOC, and 2–3 years EMS experience, plus driving EMS equipment.

Qualifications

• Must have and maintain a driving record acceptable to Nemours’ insurance carrier.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• NREMT and Delaware EMT required.
• BLS from the American Heart Association required.
• EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operators Certificate) or approved equivalent required.
• MD, NJ, and PA EMT certifications within 90 days of hire.
• At least 2-3 years of previous experience as an EMT.
• At least 2 years experience driving full size EMS equipment required.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients safely between referring hospitals or facilities, and assist RN/RT teams.
• Operate EMS vehicle safely and provide direct care under supervision as needed.
• Support pediatric transport operations, including PICU/NICU/ED coverage and ECMO transport when required.
