Job summary

Nemours is seeking an Emergency Department Tech (EMT certification required) to join our Nemours Children's Health team in Wilmington, DE. The role assists the ED team with patient care activities under RN guidance, works 36 hours weekly (7:45 PM–8:15 AM), and covers every third weekend with two holiday requirements per year.

The tech responds to campus emergencies and supports rapid assessment and patient transport.

Qualifications

• EMT certification required.
• BLS certification required upon hire.
• PEARS certification obtained upon hire.
• Minimum of 6 months experience in ED or similar setting.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients using the pediatric assessment triangle and note changes.
• Assist Rapid Assessment nurse with vitals, wounds, and meds as needed.
• Transport patients to inpatient units, radiology, OR, and other areas.
• Perform CPR during cardiac arrest and respond to Code Blues on site.
• Prepare and assist with procedures such as lumbar puncture, IV insertion, and catheterization.
• Stock ED supplies and maintain trauma rooms and equipment.
