Job summary

Wilson Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a decisive nursing leader to oversee the Emergency Department and Behavioral Health services. In this in-person role you will direct clinical programs, staffing, budgeting, and compliance to ensure safe, high‑quality patient care across all ages.

Applicants must hold a BSN, be licensed as an RN, and bring 5+ years in ER or behavioral health, plus 3+ years in leadership. Certifications include BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and Handle With Care.

Qualifications

• BSN required
• RN license current in state of practice
• Minimum 5 years in Emergency Department or Behavioral Health
• Minimum 3 years in nursing leadership or management
• BLS certification required (or obtained within first week)
• ACLS and PALS required
• TNCC required within 12 months of hire
• Handle With Care certification required within 6 months of hire
• Strong critical-thinking and ability to lead under pressure

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily operations of the Emergency Department and Behavioral Health services
• Directs clinical programs, workflow, staffing, and departmental administration
• Ensures high-quality, safe, and compliant patient care across all age groups
• Develops, implements, and evaluates departmental policies, procedures, and performance standards
• Provides clinical consultation and support to optimize patient flow and care delivery
• Mentors, coaches, and develops staff, including charge nurses and preceptors
• Ensures regulatory compliance, readiness, and adherence to hospital and accrediting body standards
• Leads departmental budgeting, productivity monitoring, and resource management
• Collaborates with physicians, hospital leadership, and interdisciplinary teams
• Evaluates patient care outcomes and drives continuous improvement initiatives
