Job summary

University Medical Center of El Paso is seeking a Nursing Leader to plan, supervise, and evaluate patient care and nursing staff across the Surgical Hospital Emergency Department and affiliated areas. The role requires coordinating shifts to maintain continuous, safe, high-quality patient care.

The candidate will oversee clinical operations, apply nursing standards, and mentor staff while ensuring compliance with BLS, ACLS, and PALS timelines.

Qualifications

• Five years of lead/supervisory/management experience in a clinical setting.
• Current and active RN license in Texas is required.
• BLS training required; ACLS and PALS within 6 months of department start.
• NPD-BC, CNML, or other approved nursing certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans, supervises, and evaluates patient care and nursing personnel of a clinical area on a 24-hour basis.
• Coordinates duties for all shifts to ensure continuity of safe, quality patient care.
• Monitors outcome measures and participates in process improvement.
