Job summary

Essentia Health is seeking Nursing Assistants for the Emergency Department in Fargo, ND. The role combines Nursing Assistant duties with Unit Secretary tasks. Shifts are 12 hours, rotating Days (7am-7:30pm) and Nights (7pm-7:30am), with every-other weekend and holiday rotation.

Responsibilities include direct patient care under supervision, hygiene assistance, vitals, and required documentation. BLS within 3 months is required; ND DOH CNA preferred or must obtain registration within 3 months of

• Provide direct patient care under supervision of RN or LPN.
• Assist with hygiene, nutrition, and comfort care.
• Complete records and report changes in patient condition.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene care and assist with nutritional needs.
• Provide comfort care and assist with transfers.
• Take vital signs and document results.
• Maintain a safe, clean patient environment.
• Answer phones and perform unit secretary duties (clerical; desk work).
• Log records and disseminate information to providers.
• Follow HIPAA guidelines and assist with patient flow.
