Job summary

Essentia Health in Kentucky is seeking a compassionate patient care technician to provide direct patient care under RN supervision. Responsibilities include personal hygiene support, meals assistance, vital signs, and safe patient transfers.

You will maintain a clean, safe environment and document care accurately while adhering to Joint Commission standards and hospital policies. BLS is required within 3 months of hire; BCLS certification or ability to obtain within 1 month.

Qualifications

• Ability to provide personal hygiene care and assistance with nutritional needs.
• Under supervision of RN/Head Nurse to deliver safe patient care.
• Must obtain BLS certification within 3 months; CPR/BCLS certification within 1 month.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene care and assistance with nutritional needs.
• Provide comfort care and help with transfers.
• Take vital signs and complete recordkeeping.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and report to RN.
• Maintain a safe, clean patient environment.
