Job summary

Advocate Sherman Hospital - Emergency Department is seeking a Nursing Assistant (CNA) for a 7p-7a, full-time role in a 46-bed ER unit with Level 2 trauma designation. 36 hours/week, every other weekend or every third weekend by teammate choice.

Mentored care alongside physicians and RNs, with competitive benefits on day one. Requirements include a good standing CNA or EMT license as defined, plus BLS within 6 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience as a nursing assistant or similar role preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and nurses with technical patient care such as phlebotomy and monitoring.
• Transport patients and operate monitors and basic IV starts where allowed.
• Document procedures and communicate patient observations to the team.
• Support care coordination across departments and facilitate communications.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and adhere to safety policies.
