Job summary

Prime Healthcare Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, IL is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for part-time night shifts (7pm–7:30am), 2–12-hour shifts. The role supports the Emergency Department team by helping patients with activities of daily living and basic nursing tasks under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.

Qualified candidates will have completed phlebotomy and EKG certifications preferred, BLS within 30 days, knowledge of medical terminology, and at least six months of acute care

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Medical Terminology required or preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification upon hire preferred.
• EKG certification upon hire preferred.
• BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Six months minimum experience in acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.
• CNA certification and High School Diploma or equivalent are required/preferred as applicable.

Responsibilities

• The Patient Care Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care and helps maintain a safe environment under RN supervision.
