Job summary

The University of Washington's UW Medical Center-Montlake Pharmacy Department is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist - Emergency Department for a part-time role with an evening shift. This pharmacist will provide direct patient care, drug therapy consults, and education within a multidisciplinary inpatient team.

Applicants should have two years of hospital pharmacy experience or an ASHP-accredited residency; WA state pharmacist license is required, with PGY-2 critical care training preferred.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in pharmacy practice or ASHP-accredited residency.
• Washington Pharmacist License required.
• Advanced degree or residency preferred (PGY-2 in critical care welcomed).

Responsibilities

• Ensure appropriate drug therapy and nutrition with proper indication and dosing.
• Evaluate regimens for effectiveness and adverse events; intervene as needed.
• Document pharmacotherapeutic recommendations in medical records.
• Provide drug information and education to medical teams and staff.
• Counsel patients and families; reconcile medication lists at visits.
• Precept pharmacy residents and student pharmacists.
• Perform duties of a Pharmacist 2.
