  • Utilize medical records to communicate with healthcare professionals and document pharmacotherapeutic recommendations.
  • Provide drug information and education to medical teams, nursing, and dietitian staff.
  • Provide patient/family counseling and education.
  • Update patient medication lists and reconcile medication orders at each visit.
  • Provide primary preceptorship of pharmacy residents and student pharmacists.
  • Perform duties of a Pharmacist 2.

The UW Medical Center-Montlake Pharmacy Department is seeking a highly-motivated Clinical Pharmacist - Emergency Department (Pharmacist 3).

Work Schedule

Per Diem Rotating/Variable Shift

This position will be required to work at multiple UW Medicine locations (UW Medical Center - Montlake and Harborview Medical Center).

Position Highlights

Our Clinical Pharmacists provide extensive pharmaceutical care and are a vital part of the inpatient multidisciplinary patient care team.

In addition to direct patient care responsibilities, our pharmacists provide drug therapy consults, participate in treatment protocol development, provide patient/family/staff education, facilitate transitions of care and precept pharmacy students and residents.

Applicants should have an advanced degree, or residency, or two years of experience in clinically-oriented hospital pharmacy practice.

PGY-2 critical care training preferred.

Primary Job Responsibilities

Required Position Qualifications
  • Two years of experience in pharmacy practice. Months spent in the completion of an American Society of Health System Pharmacists accredited residency training program may substitute month-for-month for the experience.
Legal Requirement

State of Washington Pharmacist License.
