Job summary

Advocate Health in Park Ridge, IL is seeking a full-time frontline patient services clerk for the Emergency Department. You will coordinate tests, communicate across departments, and use the EMR system to order supplies and manage patient records.

Day shift 0700-1900, 36 hours per week, with benefits. High school diploma or GED and strong communication skills are required; no prior experience necessary.

Qualifications

• High level of attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates tests and treatments with and between various departments for patients on nursing units.
• Facilitates communications required to support patient care including multi-line telephone, unit/site paging and hospital information system.
• Maintains working knowledge of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and other computer systems for ordering patient and unit supplies and equipment.
• Compiles necessary chart forms for admissions, transfers, discharges and expirations; obtains copies of medical records for transfers to other facilities.
• Verifies medical records contain complete patient demographic information and proper registration.
• Establishes and maintains positive customer relations and fosters communication within the health care team.
