Job summary

County of Adams seeks a 911 Telecommunicator for a full-time role in Gettysburg, PA. You will receive and dispatch police, fire, EMA and EMS requests, operate CAD systems, monitor alarms, and coordinate with agencies to keep operations running smoothly.

Ideal candidates stay calm under pressure, communicate clearly, and are willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Paid training is provided in a 24-hour facility.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills required.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Ability to stay composed in high stress situations.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Answers calls for police, fire, EMA and EMS via 911 system and lines.
• Coordinates and dispatches assistance with proper agency.
• Enters and updates data in CAD and other databases.
• Monitors fire alarms and FEMA/PEMA/NWS alerts.
• May assist in training new hires and prepare activity reports.
