Job summary

The Village of Greendale is seeking a dispatcher to perform routine clerical, administrative, and technical work in receiving and dispatching information for police and fire responses. You will use CAD to track incidents and coordinate responders, and you will interact with the public and other agencies.

This role requires the ability to work under pressure, maintain confidentiality, and execute duties with accuracy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read and comprehend safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and policy and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine correspondence and reports with speed and accuracy.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch police and other response vehicles for emergencies and non-emergencies.
• Maintain CAD logs of radio, telephone and computer communications.
• Notify supervisory personnel of major incidents or natural disasters and reassign officers as needed.
• Assist citizens at the station with complaints, payments, or information requests.
• Monitor weather warning systems, 911 lines and security systems.
