Job summary

University Hospitals seeks a System Communications & Information Operator to manage high-volume calls and overhead paging in a fast-paced hospital environment. You will triage inquiries, provide critical information, and support emergency responses with calm, professional communication.

Ideal candidates have 1+ years of customer service experience, a high school diploma or GED, and strong listening and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1+ years of customer service or office experience is required or an Associates/Bachelors degree in lieu of 1 year experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answers and screens all calls to the main hospital number and directs them promptly and courteously to the correct resource.
• Gathers information from callers for emergencies and relays details to emergency teams via overhead paging.
• Provides instructions to callers on handling situations until responders arrive.
• Maintains and updates call information in the computer system and records details of each call.
