Job summary

North Texas Emergency Communications Center (NTECC) seeks an Assistant Operations Manager to lead the Operations Department and support daily dispatch operations. This role reports to the Operations Manager and requires a strong leadership presence in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment.

You will supervise staff, oversee quarterly and annual evaluations, coordinate training, and ensure policy adherence while handling confidential information and critical incidents with professionalism.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience: 3 years of progressively responsible supervisory experience in public safety communications.
Must pass a drug screen and FBI background check.
English fluency required; valid Texas driver license may be required.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership to the Operations Department and oversee daily dispatch operations.
Ensure quarterly and annual staff performance evaluations are completed.
Monitor staff performance, provide coaching, and ensure guideline compliance.
Review dispatch processes, coordinate training, and improve procedures.
Respond to critical issues during non-business hours and support 24/7 operations.
Represent NTECC at local, regional, and national organizations as needed.
