Job summary

The State of New Hampshire, Department of Safety, Division of State Police, SOCPF, seeks a part-time Communications Specialist in Concord, NH. You will receive and transmit messages via radio, telephone, and CAD to support law enforcement and emergency responders.

Responsibilities include coordinating dispatch, managing NCIC entries, operating the hospital switchboard, and maintaining daily activity logs. A trainee option is available; background checks and a substance screening are required.

Qualifications

• Equivalent combination of education and experience required after high school.
• Background investigation including fingerprints and motor vehicle record check.
• Must pass hearing test and substance screening as determined by the Bureau of Emergency Communications.
• Trainee option available for candidates with 3+ years of relevant education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Receive and disseminate information via Astro Radio system, multi-line telephone, CAD, and national databases.
• Coordinate dispatch of law enforcement to emergencies and routine calls.
• Enter/locate/remove entries in NCIC per guidelines.
• Operate surveillance systems and hospital switchboard; handle emergency alarms.
• Document calls and end results; maintain logs and reports.
• Assist in training new employees in communications duties.
• Respond to alarms and notify appropriate state/local agencies.
