Job summary

The City of Rochester NH is seeking a professional Emergency Communications Dispatcher to receive, prioritize, and transmit calls for service. You will operate base radios, telephone consoles, and related systems, ensuring accurate data entry into the department's information systems.

You must maintain composure under stress, communicate clearly with the public and field units, and work various shifts including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and ability to obtain NCIC SPOTs certification.
• Strong verbal communication and ability to work under pressure in emergencies.
• Proficient in data entry and maintaining records accurately.

Responsibilities

• Receive, process and transmit emergency and business calls for service via multiple channels.
• Operate multi-channel base radios, telephone consoles and related equipment.
• Monitor on-line communications equipment and ensure system functionality.
• Prioritize calls, enter data into IMC and coordinate with on-duty units.
• Attend required training and train new employees as needed.
• Perform other duties as required.
