Job summary

State of New Hampshire, Department of Safety, Division of Emergency Services and Communications, seeks a part-time E911 Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD) to operate a statewide emergency telecommunications console. You will assess calls, provide life-saving instructions, and coordinate with police, fire, or EMS while upholding strict standards.

Candidates must have education/experience in public safety dispatch, pass multiple assessments, and meet essential requirements including background

Qualifications

• Equivalent combination of education and experience after high school, with at least 1 year in public safety dispatch.
• Must successfully participate in assessments including written exam, job compatibility, dispatch simulation, and structured interview.
• Must possess normal hearing and pass a substance screening.

Responsibilities

• Operates a state-wide emergency telecommunications system to receive and forward emergencies to appropriate providers.
• Provides life-saving pre-arrival instructions following national standards.
• Interrogates callers, assesses information, and directs to proper responders.
• Maintains professional customer service and accurate information during high-stress calls.
• Mentors new employees on E 9-1-1 processes and equipment.
