Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or desirable.
• Experience or training in telecommunications, data entry, or related fields preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate two-way radio for direct communication with law enforcement, EMS, and fire responders.
• Operate the countywide emergency paging system for severe weather and dispatching emergency services.
• Handle the county phone system: receive, transfer, and initiate calls for emergency and non-emergency situations.
• Receive calls for service, gather information, and assess the appropriate response.
• Use the TIME system for warrants, stolen property, restraining orders, missing persons; exchange messages with other agencies.
• Operate CAD and related modules for data entry and records management.
• Provide pre-arrival instructions during emergencies and coordinate across agencies.
• Assist in training new dispatchers and relay information to agencies or the public.
• Perform related duties as required.
