Job summary

University of North Carolina at Greensboro is seeking a Public Safety Telecommunicator Supervisor to manage the Emergency Communications Center and supervise Public Safety Telecommunicators. The role includes coordinating calls, alarms, and dispatching appropriate personnel while maintaining logs and policy compliance.

The position requires leadership experience, DCI operator certification, and the ability to ensure service levels across 24 hours/day operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and three years of experience in emergency communications including one year of administrative and/or lead supervisory experience.
• Requires certification as a Division of Criminal Information computer operator; Basic Telecommunicator Certification may be required within one year of employment.
• All degrees must be from appropriately accredited institutions.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the Emergency Communications Center and Public Safety Telecommunicators; coordinate response procedures and dispatch appropriate personnel.
• Coordinate hiring, supervise staff, train, inspect work, and review timesheets to ensure adequate coverage in the communications center.
• Provide performance feedback, coaching, and disciplinary actions as needed; perform duties of a Telecommunicator when required.
