Job summary

Shenandoah County is seeking an experienced Communications Operations Manager to oversee the ECC’s daily operations and related training programs. The role reports to the Emergency Communications Director and emphasizes high-level supervision of staff and interagency coordination.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in public safety or related field, supervisory experience, and knowledge of CAD/E911 systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and supervisory/public safety leadership experience.
• Experience supervising an emergency communications environment preferred.
• Strong knowledge of public safety operations and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Emergency Communications Center (ECC).
• Plan and coordinate training, policy development, and accreditation activities.
• Supervise ECC personnel, conduct performance evaluations, and manage staffing decisions.
