Job summary

St. Croix County Sheriff's Office seeks a senior manager to oversee the Emergency Communications Center within Support Services. You will lead operations, develop policies, manage budgeting, and ensure compliance with TIME System requirements and public safety regulations.

The role requires strong leadership, data analysis, and collaboration with public safety partners to maintain reliable CAD, NG911, and mass alert systems. Experience in supervision and emergency management is essential.

Qualifications

• 60 college credits or an associates/technical degree in emergency management, business administration, public administration, criminal justice, law enforcement, or relevant field.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience working in an emergency communications position.
• Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience.
• Certification/training must be completed within one year: TIME System I, TIME System Advanced, TAC, MABAS, EMD, ICS 100/200/247A/247B/300/400/700, CPR, and emergency vehicle operations training.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership, supervision, and direction to Emergency Telecommunicators and Supervisors, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
• Develops and manages the annual division budget; forecasts staffing and equipment needs; monitors expenditures.
• Directs countywide emergency communications system operations; liaises with law enforcement, fire, EMS, and public safety agencies; supports interoperability.
• Develops, updates, and implements department policies; evaluates emerging technologies and operational needs; provides technical guidance.
• Manages emergency communications equipment programming, allocation, maintenance, and readiness.
• Ensures compliance with TIME System requirements and related regulations; maintains CAD functionality and advanced system knowledge.
• Coordinates emergency support services; investigates and resolves complaints; maintains backup 911 Center readiness.
• Serves as County Warning Officer; oversees Mass Alert Notification and Emergency Medical Dispatch QA processes.
• Researches incident audio recordings, maintains confidentiality, and supports ongoing investigations.
