Qualifications

• Technical degree or diploma in Emergency Medical Technology (EMT) required.
• Preferred: Advanced EMT (AEMT) or Paramedic certification/licensure.
• Licensure as Emergency Medical Personnel in Tennessee per state EMS division.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care as directed by the Charge/Registered Nurse.
• Initiate and reassess vital signs including pulse oximetry and document findings.
• Position patients for exams and transport; verify patient identification.
• Perform phlebotomy per protocol and safety standards.
• Provide orthopedic services after training; apply/remove splints as ordered.
• Perform EKGs and other clinical observations per policy.
• Demonstrate professional practice and complete unit competency requirements.
• Carry out other job functions as assigned.
