Job summary

Methodist Le Bonheur is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician/Paramedic professional to provide direct patient care and support to licensed nursing staff. Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, phlebotomy, patient transport, and orthopedic assistance as trained, following safety and HIPAA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Required - BASIC LIFE SUPPORT (BLS) - American Heart Association
• Required - EMT certification - National Registry Of EMTs
• Preferred - Advanced EMT (AEMT) - National Registry Of EMTs
• Preferred - Paramedic - National Registry Of EMTs
• Successful completion orientation and ability to read/write at required level

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care as directed by the Charge/Registered Nurse.
• Take and reassess vital signs including pulse oximetry.
• Document and report findings to the nurse.
• Position patients for examinations and assist with transportation.
• Ensure proper patient identification.
• Perform phlebotomy following protocol and safety standards.
• Provide orthopedic services after training per providers’ orders.
• Demonstrate competence in designated orthopedic skills.
• Record clinical observations and complete required documentation.
• Perform other job functions as assigned or requested.
