Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification required within 6 months unless department leader determines otherwise.
• Related licensure such as Nurse Aide in good standing or EMT licenses as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assists physicians and registered nurses with technical patient care: phlebotomy, transport, monitors, wound care, Foley catheters, lab specimens; IV starts if allowed by state regulations.
• Documents procedures and promptly communicates observations and patient needs to the nurse.
• Processes daily patient charges and related procedures through the EHR.
• Coordinates communications to support patient care via phone, paging, electronic, and EMS systems.
• Maintains a clean, safe work environment following safety policies and precautions.
• Monitors and troubleshoots equipment; arranges major repairs when needed.
• Performs patient positioning and transporting tasks requiring lifting and pushing/pulling.
