Job summary

MedStar Health’s Washington Hospital Center in the United States is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to join the emergency department care team. You will perform venipuncture, EKGs, phlebotomy, IV care, and routine ADL assistance under supervision.

The role requires a CNA certification, a high school diploma, and 12 months of CNA experience. CPR certification within 90 days is required; CPT certification is preferred. This is a full-time position with on-site work.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an approved nursing assistant certification program required.
• 12 months experience as a certified nursing assistant required.
• CPR certification required within 90 days.
• CPT - Phlebotomy Technician Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care under supervision of nursing/medical staff.
• Assists with activities of daily living and personal hygiene.
• Performs venipuncture/phlebotomy and collects specimens as directed.
• Documents vital signs, patient data, and health records.
• Maintains patient safety, privacy, and comfort at all times.
• Transports patients and assists with discharge or transfer procedures.
