Job summary

MedStar Health in Baltimore, MD, seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant to join the emergency department care team under RN supervision. You will assist with ADLs, specimen collection, IVs, EKGs, and documentation in the health record, while ensuring patient comfort and safety.

Must have CNA certification and CPR within 90 days, with 1–2 years of CNA experience preferred. Responsibilities include assisting with procedures, vital signs, patient transport, and collaborating with nurses and physicians

Qualifications

• CNA certification completed and CPR within 90 days.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years CNA experience required; EMT/paramedic preferred.
• General healthcare experience in acute/long-term care settings preferred.
• Student Nurse in later years may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under supervision of RN or providers.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and personal hygiene.
• Perform venipuncture, EKGs, IV access, specimen collection.
• Record vitals, measurements and observations in health record.
• Maintain patient comfort, privacy and safety at all times.
• Assist with transports, discharges and transfers as needed.
• Attend meetings and participate in quality improvement teams.
