Job summary

MedStar Health’s Washington Hospital Center is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Technician to join the patient-centered care team. You will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, assist with ADLs, and support procedures such as phlebotomy, EKG, and specimen collection.

You will document data in the health record and help with patient transport and daily rounds.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an approved nursing assistant certification program required.
• CNAs must be certified in the relevant jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care under RN supervision for assigned patients and families.
• Assists with ADLs and personal hygiene.
• Performs procedures such as phlebotomy, EKGs, venipuncture, IV catheter care and specimen collection.
• Records vital signs, intake/output and other data in the health record.
• Transports and transfers patients and assists with daily rounds and patient care tasks.
