Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is hiring an Emergency Department Technician for Richmond Community Hospital. The ED Tech provides direct patient care under the guidance of an RN, performing vital signs, basic care, and routine procedures in a fast-paced ED environment.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, with preferred BLS/EMT or related certifications. Candidates should be able to work 7am-7pm, 3 12-hour shifts weekly, and be committed to compassionate, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• BLS certification preferred upon hire; must obtain prior to direct patient care.
• Current EMR/EMT/Medical Assisting certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care, vital sign measurement, comfort, and hygiene under RN guidance.
• Completes patient rounding, 1:1 safety, and assists with mobility and care tasks.
• Documents accurately and participates in handoff reports.
• Performs delegated tasks after competency validation and data collection as applicable.
• Promotes quality and safety by improving processes in patient care delivery.
