Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's or Bachelors in Psychology/Social Work preferred.
• Nursing Assistant certification accepted.
• BLS from the American Heart Association required.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to patients that promotes safety, dignity, and a therapeutic environment.
• Assist new admissions with contraband searches, room orientation, vital signs, and securing belongings.
• Assist with transfers and discharges including vital signs and belongings collection.
• Obtain and monitor vital signs; report abnormalities to nurse.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, toileting).
• Assist with therapeutic holds, restraints, and seclusion after NCI training.
• Assess patients through play and group activities; report findings to nurse.
• Assist with 15-minute rounding and observation documentation as directed.
• Assist with intake/output documentation and vital sign graphing.
• Facilitate Therapeutic Community Meetings and wrap-up sessions.
• Participate in educational and performance improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to cost containment and other duties as assigned.
