Qualifications

• Education and Formal Training: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates degree or Bachelors degree in Psychology/Social Work preferred.
• Nursing Assistant certification accepted.
• BLS from the American Heart Association required.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training and certification within 30 days of employment.
• 2 years psychiatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides care to patients promoting safety and comfort in a therapeutic environment.
• Assists with new admissions including contraband searches, orienting patients to room, and securing belongings.
• Monitors vital signs and assists with activities of daily living.
• Assists with therapeutic holds, restraints, and seclusion after NCI training.
• Participates in group activities and educational initiatives.
• Performs crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed.
• Supports documentation of intake/output and vital signs per nurse instructions.
