Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory is seeking an Emergency Assistance Case Worker who will interview, evaluate, and administer aide to clients with emergency needs, screen callers, and coordinate referrals to community resources.

You will maintain accurate records of funds and transactions, assist with grant reimbursements and reports, coordinate the food pantry, supervise volunteers, and support the Pathway Of Hope case manager while helping clients complete applications for mainstream

Qualifications

• High School diploma is required; 2 years of college in Human Services or equivalent is expected.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Two years of experience with low income and vulnerable populations.
• Must complete The Salvation Army’s Caseworker Certification Program within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Interview and screen clients for emergency assistance.
• Evaluate eligibility and coordinate resources with clients and third-party sources.
• Refer clients to other agencies following TSA guidelines.
• Assist clients in completing applications for mainstream resources and programs.
• Maintain an accounting of funds received and distributed from emergency assistance accounts.
• Prepare grant reimbursements and required reports.
• Submit a monthly statistical report of emergency assistance transactions.
• Coordinate food pantry operations and supervise volunteers.
• Foster relationships with community partner agencies and refer to POH when appropriate.
• Purge and store files annually and assist Corps Officer as needed.
