Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Eastern Territory seeks a compassionate professional to manage Emergency Assistance Services at the Portsmouth Worship and Service Center. You will assess needs, provide food and financial assistance, and connect clients to vital services to stabilize crises.

Responsibilities include registering participants for seasonal programs, coordinating stabilization courses, and working closely with the Corps Officer to advance The Salvation Army’s mission and ministry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field or at least 2 years experience in a service setting.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and able to drive a 12-passenger van.
• Must have Servsafe manager qualification (can be obtained after hire)

Responsibilities

• Provide Emergency Assistance Services at the Portsmouth Worship and Service Center location.
• Assess basic needs of low-income individuals and families and provide food, financial assistance, and vouchers for in-kind items.
• Link participants to services to stabilize their crisis.
• Register participants for seasonal programs and stabilization courses; collaborate with Corps Officer to fulfill The Salvation Army’s mission.
