JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Responsible for maintaining Fire, Life, and Property Safety Systems, employee safety training programs for all Tribal Government properties, and Master Training lists for Tribal Government team members. Collaborates with the Director of Emergency Services and the Risk Manager to ensure OSHA safety procedures are followed. Must have a strong knowledge of OSHA General Industry requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate, conduct, and maintain records on all fire, life, and safety training.
• Complete and maintain master training lists for all Tribal Government team members.
• Draft and update standard operating procedures related to safe working practices.
• Maintain fire, life, and safety/OSHA training manuals.
• Update and distribute fire, life, and safety maps across all properties.
• Ensure annual testing of fire, life, and safety equipment such as risers, fire extinguishers, and fire panels.
• Re-supply first-aid stations and other safety equipment as needed.
• Perform safety inspections throughout properties.
• Conduct mandated CPR, AED, Naloxone, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens training.
• Oversee OSHA training requirements.
• Respond to and investigate employee work-related incidents and near misses.
• Participate as a member of Emergency Services Response Team & EOC Team.
• Provide excellent service to guests and internal clients.
• Adhere to all Tribal Ordinances and Regulations.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma.
• Valid California State Driver’s License.
• Minimum 2 years of advanced education and 5 years of Occupational Health and Safety experience.
• CPR/First Aid Instructor certification preferred or within 1 year of employment.
• OSHA 511 certificate (General Industry) required.
• Health and Safety Specialist Certification or equivalent preferred.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

Must be able to stand, move, and work throughout the office and properties, including walking up to 2 miles, climbing stairs, and sitting at a desk.
