Job summary

Harvey is seeking a privacy lawyer to join its in-house legal team. You will draft, review, and negotiate Data Processing Agreements, advise on EU and US data protection law, and help scale global privacy programs while aligning with AI governance requirements.

Collaborate across product, engineering, and commercial teams to assess regulatory impacts on new features, monitor evolving privacy regulations, and support governance controls for AI with emphasis on transparency and accountability.

Qualifications

4+ years post-qualification experience in privacy and data protection.
Expertise in EU and US data protection law.
Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
Ability to collaborate across legal and business teams.
Responsive and detail-oriented, balancing strategy and execution.

Responsibilities

Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating Data Processing Agreements with customers, subprocessors, service providers, and third-parties.
Develop, maintain, and scale global privacy programs with DPIAs and Records of Processing.
Work cross-functionally with product and engineering to evaluate privacy and data protection impacts on product development.
Monitor and respond to changes in privacy laws and AI regulations.
Support implementation and ongoing compliance with AI-specific regulation (EU AI Act, UK governance).
Assist in classification of AI systems and development of AI governance controls and processes.
Partner with legal, product, and compliance on AI principles such as transparency, accountability, and human-oversight.
