Job summary

Huntsville Hospital Health System is seeking a skilled dispatcher to coordinate emergency and non-emergency medical calls. You will operate CAD tools, monitor radio frequencies, and relay information to field units to ensure rapid response.

Strong typing, EMD certification, and CritiCall performance are required; you will enter and retrieve data across multiple systems and maintain calm, professional communication under pressure.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Typing speed of at least 35 words per minute must be demonstrated.
• Must have completed CritiCall (Computerized Critical Skills) testing with a minimum 80% score.
• Must have successfully completed EMD certification in call taking and/or dispatching of medical emergency calls.

Responsibilities

• Dispatches emergency calls to closest appropriate unit using CAD tools.
• Monitors multiple radio frequencies and communicates with field units and other agencies.
• Operates two-way radio and relays information to where needed.
• Enters, updates, and retrieves information from multiple computer systems.
• Maintains situational awareness and provides calm, professional customer service.
