Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems Sector seeks an EMI/EMC Engineer – Level 2 to join our team in Dulles, VA. You will perform EMI/EMC design, analysis, test, and compliance verification from component to system level across the product lifecycle.

You will develop models for E3 environments, participate in design reviews, and support test planning and execution with a range of EMI/ RF equipment. Occasional travel and off-shift work may be required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or STEM with 2+ years of related experience; OR a Master's degree.
Experience with MIL-STD-461, DO-160 EMI/EMC requirements or similar.
Experience in electromagnetics and RF design (circuits, shielding, antennas, filters).
Willing to obtain U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance with SCI and polygraph.

Responsibilities

Decompose and allocate EMI/EMC requirements to meet system performance.
Prepare EMI/EMC documents: Control Plans, Test Plans, Procedures, and Qualification Test Reports.
Develop analytical models for E3 environment: shielding, isolation, ESD.
Support EMI/EMC test planning and execution with lab equipment.
Troubleshoot EMI issues from board to system level with practical solutions.
Participate in design reviews and program reviews.
Review and approve EMI/EMC subcontractor deliverables.
Travel occasionally for testing and reviews; occasional off-shift work.
